After successfully graduating from kindergarten, brothers Mislav Klaić and Luka Klaić attended music schools in Zagreb, Croatia, where their music path began with the support of their teachers Vladimir Bednjanec, Marijan Milić and Xhevdet Sahatxhija. Soon they have decided to join forces and use their knowledge to build harmonies together.
So was born “Meshgrid” – a project with the aim to mesh different genres and find their balance in indie rock music, a music genre associated with their favourite artists ranging from David Bowie, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Talking Heads, The Clash, The Stranglers, The Smiths, Echo & the Bunnymen, King Crimson, Radiohead, Joy Division, Nirvana and Depeche Mode to The Killers, Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, Editors, Mando Diao, and many more. Heavily inspired by their dad’s old band Ritmo and other Croatian and ex-Yu musicians such as Arsen Dedić, Damir Urban, Azra, Haustor, EKV, Pips, Chips and Videoclips and TBF, they have decided to make their albums as Croatian and English multilingual experiments.
So was born their debut album – “Pilot”. It is their first work, but a work of heart pivoting around the phrase “You can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs”, even though giving everything it can to please your taste.
Soon, Leon Baždar joined on drums and percussions while Mak Terbovc took care of the bass. Holding their first gig at Mochvara, Zagreb on 30th of January, 2024, Meshgrid became a fully fledged group.
Using the knowledge that emerged from the groundings of “Pilot”, they will continue to improve their style, ideas, and self‑expression in their upcoming singles and albums. Listeners can stay tuned with news by signing up for Meshgrid’s mailing list or by following their accounts on YouTube, Spotify, Instagram, and others.
